KEN MAXFIELD on CAMP GETAWAY

Like many great projects in Rotary, the idea for Rotary Camp Getaway at Axedale, Victoria, sprang from one person ... Ken Maxfield, of the Rotary Club of North Balwyn. Rotarian Ken’s dream of a special camp for special people has now become a reality, thanks to the power of Rotary and its hundreds of dedicated volunteers. As a District project most of the 73 clubs of District 9800 contributed to its establishment and redevelopment and its ongoing maintenance. The camp now provides recreational facilities so people with disabilities and special needs can enjoy outdoor, environmentally based programs.
