SPEAKERS FOR ROTARY CLUBS


 To attract and retain members we need to make our dinner meetings interesting. We hope members 'want' to attend. As I regularly visit clubs I come across fascinating speakers, people who I am compelled to travel some distance to hear speak, and on topics that I find amazing.


Clubs often ask me for good speakers. Hence this blog. Each entry on the blog will be a speaker who is willing to make the time to travel and speak at your club. I will include a short biography about the speaker, a description of what they are talking about and how to contact them. Where they are prepared to talk on different topics I will include each topic as a separate blog post.


Note: that because they are listed on this blog does not guarantee they can come and talk at your club. You may be too great a distance from their home, they may be busy or they may have other reasons they can't do it. A club can ask but then it's up the speaker if they can do it.


For clubs that can't get a speaker, or if their speaker has had to cancel at the last moment I also recommend the episodes on "Parkes Rotary Youtube". These include videos of Rotary projects, Rotary in action, and general interest stories. Click on the link below:

If you are looking for a talk for your local Rotary Club that is a bit different and will be talked about, then this may be it. Grover Greenfield will design a talk for you about rats. Grover has been a rat enthusiast since a very early age and now consults on animal ethics. This may be a great introduction to the world of rats. GROVER GREENFIELD AND RATS Anywhere rats are involved, you'll likely find Grover too! They have had rats as pets since age 13, and they have become a true passion. SHARLENE COHEN on MAASAI MAMMAS

Sharlene Cohen is a dedicated environmentalist and conservationist, splitting her time between East Africa and her business, Urban Rewild, in Australia. She spends 3-4 months each year in East Africa, leading grassroots projects that foster sustainable development and community empowerment. The remainder of her time is devoted to local conservation efforts, including a Koala recovery and Spotted-tailed Quoll monitoring program. MAASAI MAMMAS Sharlene's connection with the Maasai community began in 2019 when she was profoundly moved by their deep connection to nature and dedication to wildlife protection.
