PHILL ISAACS on COMPUTERS FOR VANUATU

Phill has been making an impact on a lot of students and remote communities. He worked with TAFE to develop a computer system which could operate on 12 volts.  With volunteers he has been installing these computers and solar power into remote schools in Vanuatu and PNG. Phill talks about the development and installation, and the training of teachers and students in 12 sites in Vanuatu.

COMPUTERS FOR VANUATU

Phil Isaacs will talk about the Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) project he has set up with the goal of providing computers and internet access to remote areas of Vanuatu. The program has evolved and now includes training young people to use the computers and powering the computers via solar energy. With the help of TAFE students, many from the Wentworth Falls IT school, they have installed 200 computers in 15 schools. Phil sees the program as a win-win for everyone.
