ROBERT JACOB on REAL ESTATE PHOTOGRAPHY

 South Coast Pix was created 10 years ago by Robert and Kate. Their aim was to 'create beautiful images of spaces and places'. Robert will talk about how they began by offering something different to their clients: aerial images and videos. The business grew rapidly and changed from using a camera mounted on a huge pole balanced about the property to using the most sophisticated of drones to change the industry. Robert not only talks about the service they provide for real estate agencies but also how they become a record of the history of the area.

REAL ESTATE PHOTOGRAPHY

Robert and Kate's business, South Coast Pix was created 10 years ago and have become a market leader for the service they provide. He will talk about the changes that the business has faced over those ten years with the development of drones, digital cameras and the marketing of properties on the internet. In his talk he will show hand drawn images and signs which were the original way to advertise real estate properties. Robert will also talk about the early methods of taking property photographs from low flying planes and how this has developed into high-tech drones which carry multiple cameras.

Topics covered include: What differentiates a real estate photographer from main stream photographers; the history of real estate marketing with local images; the basic types of marketing material the business produces, including pictures and floorpans;  how the internet has affected real estate marketing;  how technology is helping solve issues such as bad tenants, renovations and remote home tours; and how real estate photographers and agents are documenting our region by creating historical records. He also covers how Real Estates can produce videos with 360 degree lens that let clients take a virtual walk through a property.

ROBERT JACOB

Robert Jacob has had a varied career. He was a Warehouse manager for Visyboard, a Harvey Norman franchisee, and a Business Development Manager for Canon Australia. Ten years ago he moved to the South Coast of NSW and with partner Kate co-founded South Coast Pix, a business which provides photographic images for Real Estate Agents. The business has gone from strength to strength.

Robert became the first licensed drone pilot here on the South Coast. He also gives part of his time helping with community projects.

Sharlene Cohen is a dedicated environmentalist and conservationist, splitting her time between East Africa and her business, Urban Rewild, in Australia. She spends 3-4 months each year in East Africa, leading grassroots projects that foster sustainable development and community empowerment. The remainder of her time is devoted to local conservation efforts, including a Koala recovery and Spotted-tailed Quoll monitoring program.
