WARREN MUNDINE BOOK TOUR

Warren Mundine, AO, is a highly respected and influential businessman, political strategist, and advocate for empowering the First Nations of Australia to build businesses and sustainable economies. He has written three books, with a fourth to be published shortly. He will speak about how an Aboriginal boy born into poverty rose to become President of the Australian Labor Party and then a Liberal Party candidate, and finally an adviser to five Prime Ministers. A unique opportunity to hear an amazing speaker.

WARREN MUNDINE BOOK TOUR

Warren Mundine's first two books tell of his life, as a young Aboriginal boy born in the 1950s into a world of segregation, discrimination and poverty. He rose from his family living in a tent beside the river to become the National President of the Australian Labor Party and one of the most influential political figures. Mundine later ran as a candidate for the Liberal Party and was an adviser for five Prime Ministers.

His other book, Speaking My Mind, is a curated collection of his speeches and articles which covers topics such as reconciliation, constitutional recognition and treaties, poverty, health, energy policy, education, closing the gap, welfare reforms and getting people into work. The book covers many issues affecting Indigenous Australians, and issues which Australians should be aware of.

Warren Mundine is keen to speak to Rotary Clubs about his books, his life and his views on the issues facing Indigenous Australians and issues such as energy reform. It is not often we get to hear the views of someone who has not only lived through the events but has also played a leading role in determining policy and practice addressing these issues.
